At the end of the studio school year a recital will be presented in a school auditorium setting. Although participation is not mandatory, we encourage all dancers to participate in this exciting end-of-the-year culmination of hard work and success!
Exact dates are posted in October, although we traditionally hold our recital the second Sunday in June. Details are dependent on the availability of the Melrose Middle School.
Other Performances
Melrose Youth Ballet: CSDS is proud to have Jaclyn Demianiuk and Christina Leonard-Kristan as two valued faculty members who also Direct & Co-direct the Melrose Youth Ballet , a non-school affiliated youth dance program that stages two full-length ballet productions each year. We encourage all of our ballet students to audition and take part in the unique opportunity to perform in full-scale ballet productions, including The Nutcracker each December.
Melrose Victorian Fair:
For several years Center Stage has made its mark on the annual Melrose street festival, The Victorian Fair. The faculty selects 4 routines from the previous year’s recital to be presented to our town audience on the second Sunday in September each year.
In-Studio Demonstrations:

Pre-Pointe students celebrate their end of the year demonstration with teacher, Miss Christina and teacher assistant, Olivia Pettenati.
Occasionally, a teacher will hold an in-studio demonstration for certain classes throughout the year. This is always true for our “pre-pointe” classes, which do not appear in the recital due to the time, effort and discipline necessary for a beginner pointe dancers to gain the strength for a full-scale stage performance.
Competition Events:
Ensemble Teams participate in 2 – 3 competitions per year and these events are free and open to the public. Information on upcoming competition events will be posted on the Ensemble Team page throughout the year.
