Modern
A 20th century form of dance that uses a variety of techniques to enhance strength, control, and versatility of the upper body contrasted by a grounded, strong base in the lower half of the body. Class structure includes a center warm-up, traveling progressions, floor work and choreography. Our modern teacher strives to impart the renowned techniques and influences of Lester Horton, Martha Graham and Jose Limon to her students. Students learn a variety of styles including African-dance influences, contemporary work and traditional modern tehcnique. Age 9 and up
